We believe that there is nothing more fascinating than Human existence. We are seeing Human as One. One that refracts in all the colours and shades.

Change the course of the world of film-making industry culture and create personal and transparent relationships with auditory by innovating the world of Visual Language through collaboration with artists and creatives with different visions from all over the world.

Human Shades Film Festival brings together the storytellers and the audience for its annual program of a combination of inventive, traditional, avant-garde, sustainable, incisive, bold, calm, unique and otherwise provocative work of any style or genre.

Human Shades is a qualifying festival based in Italy.
All submissions are reviewed by trained screeners From film industry and then discussed by a screening team.
Nominated Submissions will be displayed in the Human shades gallery.
The annual festival presents 60-90 shorts as part of the films in competition programming. The majority of the works selected are experimental films FROM ALL GENRES as well as animated films.
We present nominations and awards to filmmakers in competition, as determined by the awards jury.
What we Provide
Every two months our team carefully review the submitted films and grants awards.
Awarded and nominated works will be displayed in HUMAN SHADES Gallery.
Annual awarding films are shown at the HUMAN SHADES Event that includes Q&A, Interviews, and Closing Award Ceremony in Milan, Italy.
Each year the festival presents 60-90 shorts as part of the films in competition programming.
Access to a community of freethinker artists and directors from around the world.
Opportunity to join and work with a crew of Italian and worldwide professional filmmakers.
All awarded films receive laurels, publication in our media and digital diplomas

Requirements
In order to submit a film, you must own the rights or have permission from the owner.
Formats accepted for exhibition: Digital H264, DCP and 1080 or 2K .mov (and Blu-ray back-up if requested). Entries must be submitted as online screeners via FilmFreeway. Secure Vimeo screeners are welcome. Please link such screeners on FilmFreeway.
Films must be presented in their original language with English language subtitles. If we discover a foreign-language submission is missing subtitles, we will attempt to email the submitter for an update. If the submitter fails to provide working subtitles by the final submission deadline, the project will be considered incomplete and will be disqualified without refund of submission fees.
Each submission must be accompanied by a submission fee paid in full and a working screener in order to be considered.
Students must present a valid Student ID in order to receive our student discount.
Works in progress may be submitted, but are juried in the same pool as all other submissions.
Artists can submit the film in multiple categories in order to become multi-award films. Still, the decision about the selection is strictly determined by our judges' team and no selection is guaranteed.
Submitting your movie, you authorize HUMAN SHADES to use, distribute and share the film poster, trailer, synopsis and movie stills on our social media
The maximum duration allowed is 45 minutes for shorts and a minimum duration of 45 minutes for feature films.
A copy will be requested for the Live Events with English and/or Italian subtitles.
If your work is selected to be screened at our Annual Live Event, you must provide subtitles in Italian.
Due to the ongoing global pandemic situation, physical screening in front of a live audience the date and place of the annual event can be moved
